It's been a wonderful few months for us. We have begun
working with choreographer-Irish dance luminary Kieran
Jordan, and enjoyed premiere performances of new material
at Boston's Celtic Music Fest in Jan 08, and at the North
Texas Irish Fest in February. This new trio will play
festivals in Michigan, Philadelphia, and Colorado in the
coming months.
In April, we played for an Irish music dance show in Branson,
Missouri. We did three shows a day, and between sets we
started putting music together for a new album (we begin
recording in September!). We are hoping to make a recording
that will be satisfying to traditional song and tune lovers--and
also with many tracks which might be useful and inspiring
to dancers.
Looking ahead, we're on for our second annual Irish music
cruise, this time with friends Robbie O'Connell, Aoife
Clancy, and Hanneke Cassel. We'll be leaving from Key
West and docking in Guatemala, Costa Maya, etc. Theme
parks and cruises: wow, this is quite a year...
In other news, Shannon has abandoned her designs to start
a blog. She wrote a few saucy entries about the decline
of the English language, never posted them, and then gave
up on blogging. Easy come, easy go. . .
If you can, please come see us perform
as a duo or with Kieran
Jordan. And thank you for reading and for supporting
the Heatons and traditional music!
